5 TIPS FOR BODY CONFIDENCE


We all have moments when we feel like we’re not good enough. When our self-esteem takes a hit, we need a pick me up to feel like our most confident, empowered, and best selves. We stand for making everyone feel good about themselves.

If you’re feeling down, these five tips from leading coaches can lift your mood and help you feel great about yourself again.

1. CLEAN UP YOUR FEED

Unfollow anything that makes you feel bad about yourself, makes you compare your body or triggers you into negative behaviour. Once you have cleaned your feed you are going to fill it up again. BUT this time I want you to be more selective and start to follow body confidence and body positivity accounts. From now on you should try to only follow things that make you feel good.

2. GET COMPLEMENTING

Create a compliment cycle instead of competitive criticism with your friends. We've all been there “You're not fat...I'M fat!”. Work on boosting each other up without tearing yourself down. Place a body chat ban in your group and see how much space there is to talk about SO many other more important and interesting things in the world!

3. SPEND MORE TIME NAKED

There is no way you will ever be able to have sex with the lights on if you can’t even look at yourself naked in the mirror. Spend some time each day getting comfortable in your own skin – even if it means just brushing your teeth naked.

4. INVEST IN CLOTHES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL FABULOUS

You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars here but investing a little time into buying some great clothes can help you begin to appreciate your body. Wearing the right clothes that fit, flatter, and make you feel amazing, rather than the tight and uncomfortable clothes that inevitably leave you feeling insecure, really helps you look at your body in a kinder, healthier way.

5. MOVE YOUR BODY IN A WAY THAT FEELS JOYFUL TO YOU

Stop fixating on things you “should” do to make your body look more acceptable to societal norms. Don’t punish it with a run because you think you need to burn extra calories or join a gym just because its what people are “supposed” to do to be healthy. Do something because you actually enjoy doing it and how it makes your body feel!
